Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman Week 12 Round Up

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Week 12 victories for the top three drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman point standings highlighted the action at the halfway point of the season. The top 11 drivers in the points chase have now reached the 11-week mark of their respective seasons.

Point leader Brett White of Kosciusko, MS drove the Attala Steel Rocket to his tenth win of the 2020 season on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS. White now has 549 points and his one point away from a perfect season. White is netting on a 49 and needs another 50-point win to reach the 550-point mark for a perfect season.

Ryan King of Anniston, AL took his 12th win of the season on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL driving the David King Automotive Special. King netted on a 40 and now has a best 11-week total of 548 points in the second spot. King will now be netting on a 48. A 50-point win will also give King a perfect season.

The tie breaker will be 50-point wins for each driver, and if need be, the number of second, thirds, etc. At this point in the season, White has ten 50-point wins, and King has 11 50-point wins. King had two 50-point wins in one week, and only one per week counts in the point total, but they both count in the tie breaker. White has one 49-point second-place finish to none for King.

The next best Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman finish for King is a 48-point third-place finish. Stay tuned, as this one will go right down to the wire for the National Championship.

J.C. Wilson of Milton, FL used his last week to earn full points to turn in a 40-point win with a car-count of less than eight on Saturday night at Tri County Speedway in Flomaton, AL driving the Wilson Lumber Special. That moved Wilson up to the third spot in the standings with an 11-week total of 526 points.

Sherman Everett of Morris, AL is fourth in the Late Model Sportsman National standings with a best 11-week total of 518 points and Caleb Coan of Courtland, AL is fifth with a best 11-week total of 515 points. Levi Aldridge of Double Springs, AL is sixth in the standings with a best 11-week total of 504 points, and Tony Chaney of Tuscumbia, AL is seventh with a best 11-week total of 503 points.

Dale Lucas of McKenzie, AL is eighth with a best 11-week total of 499 points and Ryan Wilson of Margaret, AL is ninth with a best 11-week total of 490 points. Jarrett Miller of Eva, AL rounds out the Top 10 in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman standings with a best 11-week total of 483 points.

In other Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman Week 12 Saturday night action, Colton Roberts drove the Roberts Racing Special to the win at Duck River Raceway Park in Lewisburg, TN and Doodle Lowe of Warrior, AL took the win at ECM Speedway in Arkadelphia, AL driving the Lowe’s Transmission Special.

Chance Landers was the winner at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL in the Landers Racing Special and Week 12 action at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN was rained out. Complete results from Week 12 races are listed below and the complete point standings are posted at www.crateracinusa.com.

Drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman Division will compete for both a weekly point fund and a National point fund over a 22 Week season that runs through November 1. A driver will count his best 11 weekly point races for their National point total.
