Newsome Raceway Parts Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman Week 8 Round Up

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – Kosciusko, MS driver Brett White picked up a Week 8 win at Whynot Motorsports Park during Week 8 action to maintain his stranglehold on the top spot in the National Point Standings. But Anniston, AL driver Ryan King continues his pursuit of the top spot after securing his eighth win of the season during Saturday night action at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, Alabama puts him second in the standings.

Levi Aldridge took a second-place finish at ECM Speedway in Bremen, AL to land in third currently ahead of the Saturday night winner at ECM, Sherman Everett, who sits fourth. Tied for fifth in the standings is JC Wilson and Heather Lowe, with Wilson holding the advantage due to more feature wins even though he was not in action during Week 8 while Lowe took home another top ten to secure her position in sixth.

North Alabama Speedway winner Caleb Coan used the extra points from the victory to move into seventh in the standings ahead of Sam Ramsey who placed in the top ten at ECM Speedway. Tony Chaney bounced back after a bad run in Week 7 to place fourth at North Alabama and solidly place himself in the ninth spot nationally. Ryan Wilson of Margaret, AL used his fifth place run at Talladega Short Track to lock him into the final spot of the Top 10 in national point standings following the eighth week of action.

In other Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman Week 8 action: Bronson Berry picked up his first win of the season at Camden Speedway in Camden, TN; and the newest sanctioned track, Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA saw Kole Hardy drive into victory lane during Friday night action for his first 2020 season victory.

Drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman Division will compete for both a weekly point fund and a National point fund over a 22 Week season that runs through November 1. A driver will count his best 11 weekly point races for their National point total.
