NEWSOME RACEWAY PARTS WEEKLY RACING SERIES LATE MODEL SPORTSMAN WEEK 7 ROUND UP

ADAIRSVILLE, GA – The battle continues for the 2020 Crate Racin’ USA Late Model Sportsman National Championship as the contenders continued their winning ways during Week 7 action. Current point leader Brett White of Kosciusko, MS picked up the win on Saturday night at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, MS to retain the top spot in the national points.

Young driver JC Wilson of Milton, FL notched a third place finish in Saturday night action at Deep South Speedway in Loxley, AL to take the second spot, while Anniston, AL driver Ryan King was once again in victory lane at Talladega Short Track on Saturday night and currently sits third in the national points.

Levi Aldridge is fourth in points after his fourth-place finish at ECM Speedway in Bremen, AL on Saturday night, while Dale Lucas rounds out the top 5 in the national point standings.

Sherman Everette had some issues during Saturday night action at ECM Speedway with a DNS for the feature, but remains in the top ten in sixth place, followed by fellow ECM regular Heather Lowe who finished eighth at ECM to place her currently seventh in the standings.

Eighth in the points belongs to Preston Walden who finished eighth on Saturday night at Talladega Short Track in Eastaboga, AL. Dewayne Morris currently sets in the night position after a third-place finish in action at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL. ECM Speedway’s Saturday night winner, Sam Ramsey, used his win to slip into the top 10 of the national standings at the end of Week 7 action.

In other Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman Week 7 action, third generation driver Jarrett Miller picked up his first win at North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, AL parking his number 91 machine in the same victory lane that was visited by both is dad Jon and grandfather Dicky. Rod Tucker was the Friday night winner at Lavonia Speedway in Lavonia, GA. Kevin Mitchell parked his 99 machine in Deep South Speedway Victory Lane marking his first sanctioned victory of 2020, and Brandon Kilpatrick took the win in Saturday night action at Northwest Florida Speedway in Baker, FL notching his first win in the Late Model Sportsman Division for 2020.

Drivers in the Newsome Raceway Parts Crate Racin’ USA Weekly Racing Series Late Model Sportsman Division will compete for both a weekly point fund and a National point fund over a 22 Week season that runs through November 1. A driver will count his best 11 weekly point races for their National point total.
